Turtle Tech repairs is an independent repair shop based in the heart of Sheffield city centre.
A team of experienced technicians ready to help with all of your technology problems. From fixing smart phones to repairing laptops we are here to help every step of the way.
We try our hardest to complete your repair in the fastest time possible as we know how important it is getting your device back. Turtle Tech Repairs prides itself on giving first class customer service at really competitive prices.
We offer a 10% discount off labour costs with any valid student card or NHS card.

OUR SERVICES

Data Recovery

Data can be recovered from failed internal and external hard drives. Data recovered can be transferred onto your new device or hard drive.

Virus Removal

If you know or suspect your computer or laptop is infected with a virus or other malware, we can remove them for you using tried and tested methods and software. We will also advise you on how to protect yourself in future as well as try and establish what caused you to become infected in the first place.

Mobile Repairs

Have you cracked the screen on your phone or is your screen not responding? Turtle Tech technicians can fix it! Most screen repairs can be completed in as little as 20 minutes!

Laptop Repairs

Smashed screen, no sound when you play videos, no picture or distorted image. These issues and more could be down to broken hardware or corrupt software which we can diagnose and repair for you.

Tablet Repairs

Have you cracked the screen on your tablet or is it not working? Turtle Tech technicians can fix it! Most screen repairs can be completed in 24hrs (it would be a few hours but we need to wait for the adhesive to cure) if the parts are in stock.

PC Repairs

No sound when you play videos, no picture or distorted image. These issues and more could be down to broken hardware or corrupt software which can diagnose and repair for you.

When are you open?

We are open weekdays from 10am to 6.30pm.

Can my device be repaired the same day?

If we have the parts in stock then the answer is YES!

We carry parts for most iPhones, some select computer components and some select Android phones.

Due to low demand and a wide market, it would not be cost effective at the moment to carry parts for other devices. The price of parts drops over time as well, so we always try and get the best value for the customer.

For jobs where we need to diagnose the issue before ordering parts, we will try and carry out the diagnosis on the day the device is booked in however, this is subject to our current job list.

After diagnosis, we will contact the customer to confirm they wish to go ahead with the repair. If not a £20 diagnosis fee may apply. If we cannot find the issue, no diagnosis fee will apply. If the customer wishes to go ahead with the repair, we will order the parts and let them know the estimated delivery date.

We try our best to let customers know of delays with the repair process but sometimes we do not have enough manpower to do this as well as keep on with other repairs at a good speed. We do not mind you calling to ask us how the repair is going but please bear this in mind if we have failed to get a hold of you a couple of times.

How long will my repair take?

Once we have received parts, here is typically how long it will take to fix your device.

iPhone: 20 – 40 minutes

Android Phone: 20 minute – 1 day*

iPad: 1 day*

Android tablets: 1hr – 1 day*

Data Recovery: 1 day – 1 week (depending on severity of data corruption)

Macbook: 1hr – 3 days

Laptop: 1 hr – 3 days

iMac: 1 hr – 3 days

Desktop: 1 hr – 3 days

Please note, phones and tablet’s that need to have adhesive re-applied will need 24hrs to properly cure, hence the 1 day wait. You may take your device while the adhesive is curing if you are in a hurry but please note that in these cases, an additional charge may occur if your device becomes “unstuck” and you bring it back to be reapplied.

Is it always possible to repair my laptop?

The majority of laptops are repairable.

In rare instances, if we are unable to diagnose the problem, your item will be returned and there will be no fee.

Can you remove viruses from my laptop?

If you know or suspect your computer or laptop is infected with a virus or other malware, we can remove them for you using tried and tested methods and software. We will also advise you on how to protect yourself in future as well as try and establish what caused you to become infected in the first place.

What does no fix no fee mean?

After an initial inspection, if we are unable to diagnose the issue, you will not be charged for anything. As well as this, we will always give free advice to the best of our knowledge as to whether a device is uneconomical to repair.

How can I pay?

Soon, we will have a card terminal and take most major debit and credit cards apart from American Express. For the time being, we are only accepting cash.

How much will my repair cost?

Once the problem with your phone/laptop has been identified we will be able to quote you a price. We are very competitive on our prices and beat most major retailers such as Apple and iSmash.

Do you repair games consoles?

Yes we can repair most games consoles. If you give us a ring on 0114 2750023 and let us know your problem and we can tell you if we can repair it.

I have bought a new laptop can you transfer the data my old one to my new one?

Yes of course. This is charged at a standard rate of £35. If you bring in both your old laptop and new laptop we will be able to transfer the data across.

What phones can you repair?

We are able to diagnose and repair most smartphones. We will also advise whether or not it is economical to get the repair done or perhaps buy a new device instead.

What happens if my repair becomes faulty again?

We offer a 90 day warranty on most of our repairs. You will be informed before the device is booked in if this is not the case.

If you have any issue that is related to the repair, we are more than happy to solve it.

Do you always use parts from the manufacturer?

We can fit genuine, OEM and third party parts and will always consult and advise you to what we think might be best in each case.

I have been quoted a price for repair what is included?

In your quote both parts and labour are included.

Will my quote be the final amount I pay?

In most cases the quote and the final payment amount will be the same. If at any point the price might change, you will be consulted first.

My item is still in warranty will this become void if I bring it in for repair?

Before bringing your smart phone or laptop in for repair please consult with the makers of your product to see if they will repair it for free. If we open up your tech, in a lot of cases, your warranty may become void.

Do you offer a warranty with all your repairs?

With the majority of repairs we offer a 90 day warranty.You will always be informed when this is not the case before you book your device in.

How do I find you?

We’ve been told we’re a hidden gem! Our shop is based in the centre of Sheffield. We are located next to Sheffield Hallam University behind the Globe pub. If you follow the driveway down where the green footprints are we are based in the court yard. If you have any issues finding us please ring on 0114 275 0023 and we will be able to direct you.
